Don't Tweet to Facebook unless...

IMHO it's bad form to automatically feed your Facebook status with your Twitter tweets as a one-way toss over the transom. I'm seeing an increasing number of Facebook accounts where my newsfeed shows someone's status update along with replies and ensuing conversations, but where the original poster is oblivious to this because they don't check in on Facebook.
It's OK to connect your services, but be responsible for the conversations you start.
Just saying.

I use ping.fm to send messages once that end up in multiple places. But that doesn't send replies from those multiple place back to me.
The problem is people sending tweets into facebook then ignoring the replies or conversations that ensue only on facebook.

I found an easy solution for this. I think it's called selective twitter. Which uses only tweets with the hash mark #fb to update your status. The reason I use it is exactly the point you made in this post.

What they may not realize is that people who do this may be squelched because of it. As soon as I see a stream of Twitterese on Farcebook, I squelch them with extreme prejudice. Sure, they may have something of worth to say - but if I have to go through 10 zillion stupid things to get to it, I'll do without whatever they have of worth.
Great post. Succinct.
